The Miami Ink Show - Great Television for Everyone

If you are a fan of tattoos or just a fan of great reality television than I would recommend you
check out the Miami Ink show. Now I have to confess that I did not start watching this show when it first came out
in July of 2005 on TLC.
A good friend of mind recently recommend that I watch the Miami Ink show, so I ended up
picking up one of the seasons on DVD. I personally could not stop watching and I watched the majority of that
season in one sitting. What I loved about the show were the really strong personalities on the show and the stories
of the people getting the tattoos.

When I see people on the street with a great piece of art on their skin, I sometimes wonder what
the story is behind that tattoo. The Miami Ink show really gives us a chance to get some great stories of what
inspired peoples tattoos.
So just a bit of a background on the cast of the show. It takes place in a shop in Miami, Florida
called 305 ink. The shop is owned by both Ami James and Chris Nunez. Ami has a very strong imposing personality
that you will see when you watch the show. To call him a fighter would be an understatement. He is a very skilled
tattoo artist who is at his best when he works free hand. Chris "Nunez" is the other owner and is the party animal
of the group. He has a very cool vibe and is not as intense as Ami. He is one of those people who seems to truly
enjoy life.
Kat Von D is the only female tattoo artist on the cast of Miami Ink show and specializes in
doing any type of photo portraits. Since the conception of Miami Ink she has developed quite the following, and was
even given a Miami Ink spin off called LA Ink, which has the same reality show concept of Miami Ink but takes place
in Los Angeles, California.
The rest of the cast Chris "Garver", probably the most experienced of the crew, specializes in
doing large tattoo pieces. Darren Brass is another artist in Miami Ink who is known for being very detailed with
his work, because his size allows him to work really close to the tattoos he's working with."Yoji" Harada, an
apprentice, is learning the tattoo trade from the more experienced tattoo artist at the shop.
A typical Miami Ink show episode features people who plan on getting tattoos at the shop, and
goes into detail about the motivations and reasoning for getting the tattoo they are planning to get.
The show also goes into some of the personal lives of the different artist. If you already have
interest in tattoo art, than you will really enjoy Miami Ink because of all the beautiful tattoos that are shown on
the show.
If you aren't really interested in tattoos, I believe you will enjoy the show because you will
drawn into all the different personalities and stories on the show. I do not watch much television, but I do
recommend you do yourself a favor and watch an episode of the Miami Ink show.
